Vibrant Summer Thankfulness For A Great Spring Finish

Since 2009, Heat of the Kitchen has helped hundreds of youth realize their amazing value through active, professional practice.
Our mission is to re-engage and mentor transitional aged youth through the
communal acts of cooking, eating and serving together.
Our vision is to nurture youth throughout San Francisco into confident, caring professionals by providing positive, real work experiences in our kitchens and gardens.
After many transitions, it feels great to be cooking again in person with students. We still host a weekly meal where students can practice their professionalism through our favorite activities: planning, preparing, plating, serving, enjoying and yes, cleaning up together.
Think about it. We all love to eat, cooking together unites us. And we use all of our senses when we cook which makes the learning lasts long after the dishes are done.
