{"id":208,"date":"2011-02-12T21:26:00","date_gmt":"2011-02-13T05:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/heatofthekitchen.org\/?p=208"},"modified":"2014-07-31T13:33:22","modified_gmt":"2014-07-31T20:33:22","slug":"ingenuity-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/heatofthekitchen.org\/?p=208","title":{"rendered":"Ingenuity"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: left;\">I grew up here in San Francisco on those barbeque pork buns. &nbsp;They had already become a grab and go option in Chinatown and on Clement Street, and most of my students are familiar with them too. &nbsp;It turns out that making the dough is pretty easy, once you have experimented a little with yeasted breads. &nbsp;The night before we planned to roll and fill the dumplings I suddenly realized we needed 3\/4 inch rolling pins, having only one I had found for rolling small amounts of pasta. It was late in the evening, no way to get to an open hardware store. &nbsp;So I looked in the storage closet and found a welcome volunteer:<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/-3cfceFcYU5Y\/TWskDz_cMHI\/AAAAAAAAAvg\/GBIW3hsPPmw\/s1600\/IMG_1222.JPG?ssl=1\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em;
